2020 FISH HOUSE PUNCH FINALISTS

Fish House Live, the nation’s first live-streaming competition where chefs celebrate marine stewardship and responsible aquaculture alongside notable barkeeps creating Fish House Punch rightfully made with Buffalo Trace and Wheatley Vodka. This epic journey to revive Fish House Punch started with an idea during the pandemic, kicked off in August and culminates with the top eight barkeeps in a head to head battle on Sunday, December 6th in Atlanta.
The dynamic events feature 50+ prominent chefs, barkeeps, fisheries, and distillers all working in concert to create memorable moments that educate consumers on preparing seafood and punches at home. Over 16 barkeeps took the voyage, [8] eight advanced to the Punch 2020 Grand Finale and the [4] four barkeeps will win the grand prize!
A group of notable judges will select four [4] grand-prize winners on Sunday December 6th. The winners will receive a round-trip ticket to Buffalo Trace Distillery on December 7-9, an exclusive behind the scenes tour with the folks behind Wheatley Vodka and a 5L Buffalo Trace barrel.
The punch competition spotlights Georgia's top bar keepers. Each barkeep chooses a base spirit (Buffalo Trace Bourbon or Wheatley Vodka) and submits a hand-crafted Fish House Punch, which could possibly be the oldest surviving colonial American beverage. Fish House Punch first appeared in 1735 at Schuylkill Fishing Company of Pennsylvania - which was the first angling cooperative and longest-running social club in English-speaking world, known to many as Fish House. George Washington was an honorary member and frequently over indulged on Fish House Punch.

The notable judges include DJLord of Public Enemy, Cierra Cathey of Buffalo Trace Distillery, Melanie Wade of Golda Kombucha, Brady Lowe of Taste Network, Beverage Director Steve Minor of 1 Hotels South Beach, and Heather Craig of EGD Design.

Fish House is an important discussion on important categories of sustainable fish like Bycatch, The Wild Big Blue, Line-Caught, Farmed and Community Supported Fisheries (CSF), all while inspiring education and consumption of responsibly-cultivated seafood. Fish House Punch is a conversation that needs to happen while our time at-home increases and the core of enjoying time in our community is deemed essential.
